China's online game market continues to show strong growth, driven by the rising number of online gamers and the increasing demand for online entertainment. In-house developed games now dominate the market, outstripping overseas licensed games. The online game market is crowded with new players and more intense competition will drive further consolidation in the near future. The Chinese government is stepping up attempts to regulate the market, but regulation in the near future is not expected to be severe.
